Helge Boes Semifinal Results - December 7th

Yinz United and Fighting BOBs emerged as victors in the Helge Boes Cup semifinals on Sunday December 7th, landing both teams a berth in the championship match that will take place on Sunday, December 14th at Long Bridge Park, Field #1 at 7 PM.  In the first semifinal, #1 seed Yinz squeezed by #4 seed Soccerdome/ICC by a score of 4-3.  The second semifinal pitted #2 seed and reigning Helge Boes champion Dulles Sportsplex Aegean Hawks vs #3 seed, Fighting BOBs.  The BOBs pushed to an early 2-0 lead and held on to dispatch the Hawks by a score of 2-1 in regulation.

Since the Helge Boes Cup was inaugurated in the Fall 2012 season, no team has won the title more than once, a fact that has been ensured for another season based on Sundays semifinal results.  When Fighting BOBs and Yinz square off on Sunday, a new Helge Boes Cup champion will be crowned.  This is a testament to the parity within the WPL and our designation as an elite amateur league by the USASA.  Congratulations to Fighting BOBs and Yinz on their advancement and to all the teams display of skill and competitive drive this Fall season!
